Summer Job Posting: Festival Assistant (Promotions)

Position Overview: The Festival Assistant (Promotions), will assist with promotions for the 2017 Veg Food Fest and associated events. The successful applicant will work closely with the Toronto Vegetarian Association team to promote the festival within the GTA and to vegetarians across the continent. S/he/they will craft communications and design materials to generate interest in North America’s largest annual vegetarian festival and achieve the mission of the Toronto Vegetarian Association. An enthusiastic, proactive vegetarian self-starter will thrive in this position. This role calls for good organizational skills, strong written communication skills, and experience using social media platforms to engage audiences. POSITION OVERVIEW – The Veg Food Fest Assistant will assist with the planning, production and delivery of the 2017 Veg Food Fest. S/he will be the front line person for all festival inquiries, and will carry out follow-up communications with festival vendors and other stakeholders to support the Veg Food Fest. S/he will work closely with the Toronto Vegetarian Association team to achieve the goals of the 2017 Veg Food Fest and TVA’s summer outreach. Opportunities to participate creatively in programming or marketing the festival will be explored with the Festival & Events Coordinator. Meet Alyssa: TVA Staff Profile

Earlier this week we told you all about Annie, our graphic design assistant for the Veg Food Fest. Annie works closely with our Festival & Events coordinator Alyssa. We introduced you to Alyssa a few months ago but with the 32nd Veg Food Fest less than two months away, we thought you might want to get to know her a bit better! What do you do at the Toronto Vegetarian Association? I coordinate and plan  TVA’s annual events and marketing communication campaigns. This includes our annual   Veg Food Fest and Veggielicious . I also  collaborate with TVA staff and volunteers to assist in planning  and executing our annual Totally Fabulous Vegan Bake-Off. How did you become interested in vegetarianism? I began reducing my meat consumption in first year University due to the amazing vegetarian and vegan options at the University of Guelph campus.
