Toronto Starch Solution Potluck lunch
July 17, 2016 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pmFree
Don Heights Unitarian Congregation will be partnering with the Toronto Starch Solution Meetup group to host a potluck lunch based on the principles of Dr. John McDougall’s book The Starch Solution : Eat the Foods You Love, Regain Your Health, and Lose the Weight for Good.
The group plans to make this a monthly event, on the third Sunday of each month and to show and discuss a video or invite someone to share their Starch Solution experiences with the group.
This low fat, whole foods, plant based (WFPB) way of eating centres on healthy starches such as whole grains, beans, lentils, peas, potatoes, sweet potatoes, winter squashes, parsnips, pasta, and so on, augmented with smaller proportions of green, yellow and orange (non-starchy) veggies prepared and served without added fat and eaten with a plethora of delicious, fat free condiments and sauces, in quantities that are satisfying. Feeling hungry or deprived is discouraged. No starvation or sacrifice required!
Come on out for a delicious potluck lunch and a chance to mingle with some new folks. If you need suggestions for what to bring, see Dr. McDougall’s website or fatfreevegan for recipes or feel free to bring a plate of cut up vegs or fruit. Please bring a copy of your recipe or list of ingredients so that we can all learn together about the food and people with food allergies can feel confident about what they are eating.
A small donation of $1 or $2 would be appreciated to help defray the costs to Don Heights for the use of the space.
Parking is available and is FREE for this event.
