Toronto Starch Solution Potluck Lunch
November 18, 2018 @ 12:30 pm - 2:30 pmDonation appreciated
Join us for our monthly potluck lunch and hear an inspiring story of simple and sustained weight loss.
Have you or someone you know been “watching your weight” for most of your adult life? Do you now weigh as much or more than you did at the start? Has your doctor given you a diagnosis and then casually mentioned that you should lose some weight without any help or guidance? The weight loss industry records billions of dollars in profits every year as people switch from one plan to another, largely without any lasting success.
Our bodies are wonders of design, superbly equipped to keep us alive in extreme conditions. Unfortunately, they are not designed for modern life. When we diet and reduce our calorie intake or the volume of our food, our bodies perceive a state of famine and they fight to keep us alive. After days or weeks of misery and discomfort, when we fall off the diet as almost inevitably happens, our bodies understand that the famine is over and they begin to rebuild our extra stores of fat in preparation for the next tough time. Just to be on the safe side, they save a little extra. Successful sustained weight loss is almost impossible.
Join us for the Starch Solution potluck lunch on Sunday, November 18 to hear our guest speaker, Cass. I recently heard Cass speak at the Durham VegFest about her history of dieting and her successful and sustained loss of over 100 pounds. Her story is both inspiring and entertaining.
“Cassandra Blonde is an experienced mother and housewife with 20 years under her belt. According to her children she is very loving, supportive, and great at her job. …. Cassandra’s most recent successes include losing over 100 pounds, regaining her health, and riding a bike for the first time in 20 years.”
