Toronto Starch Solution Potluck Dinner
June 17, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pmDonation appreciated
This group meets to share ideas, recipes, support and to socialize as we improve our health and our lives following the guidelines in Dr John McDougall’s book, The Starch Solution. This is a whole foods, plant based, vegan diet that has no added oil. From The Starch Solution: “A starch-rich diet can actually help you lose weight, prevent a variety of ills, and even cure common diseases. You’ll feel satisfied, have increased energy, and look and feel your best.”
Bring a favourite dish that is either from one of Dr. McDougall’s recipes, or from another oil free, plant based resource such as fatfreevegan.com. Aim to make a recipe that serves at least 4 – 6 people. If you prefer, bringing a simple plate of fruit or fresh vegetables (carrots, celery, etc.) is appreciated if making a recipe isn’t possible.
If you’re driving, there’s free parking. Check with organizers at the event for a TEMPORARY PARKING PASS.
To find us by bus: the #100 Flemingdon Park bus stops right across the street from Don Heights. Get off this bus at Gervais Drive. The #25 Don Mills bus (get off at Wynford Drive and walk east one block) The #34 Eglinton East bus (get off at Don Mills and Eglinton, walk north to Wynford and a block east to Don Heights).
When you bring your dish, please have the recipe printed out to be displayed with your food. This is to ensure that anyone with allergies can safely eat and enjoy themselves.
Please note, for the use of the space we are asking for a minimum donation of $2.00 for each person attending.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT IS NOT AT THE USUAL TIME OR DATE.
