March / April Veg Guide Updates!

March 26, 2021

Happy (almost) April! If you’re near Dundas West, you’re in luck; there are THREE new vegan places nearby! But there’s lots this month for everyone, including a new big chain offering vegan burgers, and some great places east of the city. Read on!

Fig Kitchen and Market

29 Toronto Street South, Uxbridge

Fig Kitchen and Market features a market with all vegan goodies, produce, cheeses and so much more, plus a restaurant (with an awesome patio to come). This is brought to you by the owner of the Bar Cafe which closed recently to make way for this larger location. This is your place north-east of the city to get Vego bars, all the vegan cheeses, Loon kombucha, and so many more hard-to-find goodies. We can’t wait to try their patio out this summer! The cafe offers espresso drinks, smoothies, pizza, bowls, salads, sandwiches and more!

Harlem Bodega

1307 Dundas Street West

Harlem Bodega makes amazing Harlem style Puerto-Rican food, and it’s delicious. We love their chopped cheeze and their fried pastelillos. And now west enders can enjoy their food, because they’ve moved their kitchen to Dundas West! You can stop in, or order on all the ordering platforms. Try it, you’ll love it!

Honey’s Ice Cream

1448 Dundas Street West

We are expecting great things from this new vegan ice cream shop on Dundas West. For now it is pints and pies of their made-in-house flavours like peanut butter & saltine, but we have high hopes for cones come summer! You can preorder for pickup in store if you want to be sure to get your hands on something!

Organic House

Vegan chocolate truffles. That should be all we need to say, but we’ll add some more. Organic House makes small batch gourmet chocolates, and they’re new to the Veg Guide this month. We are hearing amazing things about their chocolate, which you can order from their website–give them a try!

Portobello Road

23 Bond Street East, Oshawa

This new addition to Oshawa’s vegan scene offers whole food plant based meals for pickup weekly. Expect delicious plant-forward meals, smoothies, and lots of flavour.

Stefano’s Sandwiches

Inside Uffico, 1214 Dundas Street West

This vegan sandwich shop is brought to you by Uffico on Dundas West (the third Dundas W. entry this month!). Their fried chicken sandwich was on the cover of Now magazine last month, and Dan Levy has even posted about them! We can’t wait to try the corned beef sandwich, and we hear great things about the fish sandwich too!

Burger King

All Ontario locations, Canada wide next month

At long last, the Impossible Whopper has arrived in Canada! Burger King quietly launched this in Ontario last week, and apparently will expand to the whole country next month. Order without mayo to make the burger vegan!

That’s all for this month, but we can’t wait to see what the summer brings to Toronto!
