Steppin’ to the Beet: TVA’s Virtual Fitness Challenge
Run, walk, or bike 5k, 10k, a half or full marathon, or a duathlon distance of your choice, to raise funds for the Toronto Vegetarian Association in celebration of World Vegetarian Day!
What does a virtual fitness challenge mean? Are we doing this together, in person?
But don’t worry, there will be plenty of opportunities for you to meet and chat with others who are completing the challenge throughout the summer, both in person and online. See more details below!
Once again, this is up to you! You could simply step outside your home for a 5k walk, or perhaps you have a trail or route you’ve always dreamed of doing, like a bike ride along the waterfront trail from start to finish.
All team members receive a special commemorative TVA magnet in celebration of our 75th anniversary this year, as well as a back issue of VegNews Magazine and a small packet of Profi’s Cookies n Cream Protein Powder.
You will also be invited to team events throughout the summer, such as a socially-distanced picnic in a Toronto park, a Zoom webinar from a veg fitness expert to provide training tips, virtual team training days where we’ll chat online via Zoom after completing a training run/walk/bike ride, and another socially-distanced picnic in a Toronto park after everyone has completed their challenge. More details coming soon!
“I was thrilled with the amount of resources, support (and fun!) I received in running with the Toronto Vegetarian Team. This was my first 10k. I had a lot to learn – both in running and in successfully fundraising for a cause near and dear to my heart. But I felt well prepared with the amazing help of TVA along the way. Still learning and hope to participate again! Plant powered, for life!”
“I had a blast doing my first ever 5K walk. From the fundraising I did, to talking to people about making better and healthier eating choices, to motivating myself to get in better shape to do the 5K walk, to reading your encouraging and supportive emails. I’m really proud of myself for having done this, and I consider it a personal victory.”
