March Veg Guide Updates!

Recent snow aside, spring is definitely on its way! We have a bunch of great new places for you to visit in between warm spring walks, with plenty of options in both Toronto and outside of the city.
Conspiracy Pizza
176 Wicksteed Ave. & 28 Bathurst St. (Inside Belgian Moon Brewery at Stackt Market)
East or West end, Conspiracy Pizza has your back for wood-fired pizzas that can be subbed with vegan cheese and sausage! Substitute in Earth Island cheese or Beyond Meat sausage, and if you’re in the East End, you can even get it delivered!
Evviva
25 Lower Simcoe St., Toronto
3175 Rutherford Rd., Vaughan
Doug McNish has partnered with Evviva restaurants in Toronto and Vaughan to offer diners an all-vegan brunch menu, and we hear it’s awesome! In addition to Doug’s signature vegan eggs, find vegan bacon, sausages, french toast, waffles, burgers, lattes, and more!
Fairly Frosted
811 King St, E., Hamilton
In addition to finding Fairly Frosted’s amazing treats and ice cream at markets and cafes west of the GTA, they now have their own retail outlet in Hamilton! Scoops of ice cream flavours like banana chip, chocolate lavender cakes and cupcakes, and so much more wait for you there! Make sure to give them a visit.
Fresh
25 The West Mall
Fresh has announced that they’ll be opening up a new location at Sherway Gardens in a few months. And if this isn’t exciting enough, they’ve also announced a pop-up opening on the Queensway sooner than that! Look out Etobicoke!
Lovebird
1277 Queen St., W.
Vegan chicken lovers rejoice! Lovebird is now open in Parkdale. It is a new takeout and delivery spot on Queen West, serving up healthy plant based and gluten free fried chickun, sandwiches and bowls. Check them out in person, for pickup via the website, or if you live in the neighbourhood, get delivery through UberEats and Skip The Dishes.
Mandy’s Salads
No real details on this yet, but Montreal salad empire Mandy’s Salads is coming to Toronto! A browse on their website shows lots of vegan options, including tofu and vegan chicken protein options with lots of cool veggies
New Orleans Pizza
Various locations in Ontario
Vegan cheese and meats are so common at pizza places now that even chains like New Orleans Pizza that primarily serve small towns are offering vegan cheeses, ham, and pepperoni. Look for New Orleans pizza on road trips (I remember seeing them all the time going up the Bruce Peninsula), and be glad we’re living in 2020 where there’s decent vegan options!
South Indian Dosa Mahal
1285 Bloor St., W.
Bloordale will soon have its favourite dosa shop back! South Indian Dosa Mahal has announced a new location opening soon at Bloor and Lansdowne!
Veggie Planet
3175 Rutherford Rd., #52, Woodbridge
Indian fusion restaurant Veggie Planet has opened a second location in Woodbridge! They have a menu FULL of unique dishes and twisted versions of popular Indian street food, including pizza, poutine, burgers, and more; almost all of which can be made vegan. Check it out!
