New Vegan Locations
Sweet Hart Kitchen (68 Wales Ave., email@example.com, www.sweethartkitchen.com) was featured in our March Directory Updates as an upcoming Toronto vegan eatery, creating fine treats and tasty eats that are 100% plant-based, using natural sweeteners and healthy ingredients. Sweethart Kitchen has since announced that the grand opening of their Kensington Market location will be on Friday, April 14th! Rosie’s Eatery (1726 Avenue Rd., firstname.lastname@example.org, www.rosiesto.com) has announced that their grand (soft) opening will be on April 24th! “Rosie’s Eatery is a gluten free & vegan café with a concept that provides its customers a truly unique experience.” Rosie’s offers a fully customizable menu of oatmeals & yogurts plus a variety of salads, smoothies, baked goods & raw treats. Try Oats & Yogurt options like The Bliss, with banana, coconut, cashew milk and sucanut, or The Hearty with blueberries, flax, hemp hearts, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds. New Vegan Bar
Apiecalypse Now Pizza & Snack Bar (735 Bloor St. W., 416-516-4555, www.eatveganpizza.com) has announced the opening of their new bar and restaurant space, FuBar! The new space is located upstairs, right above their existing restaurant space at Bloor and Christie, and offers expanded seating to kick back and eat some of the best pizza, snacks and sweets you’ll ever taste, as well as a selection of craft beers. New Lunch & Dinner Menu!

The kitchen will be open Monday – Friday from 11am-8pm for lunch & dinner, and 10am-4pm Saturday & Sunday for brunch.” There’s familiar favourites like the Pizza Grilled Cheese and the Hail Seitan, as well as new options like the Thai Peanut Wrap (pictured) and Bahn Mi Sandwich. New Vegan Options
Saigon Lotus (6 St. Andrew St., 416-901-1115, www.saigonlotus.ca) is a new Vietnamese restaurant located in Kensington Market, with fantastic vegan options. “At Saigon Lotus Restaurant, besides regular Vietnamese food menu, we also serve vegan food, which its ingredients are selected from the freshest greens at the market. Try out some of our famous specialties such as fresh spring rolls, pho noodles or vegan pho noodles, you will see how passionate we are in nourishing the body and soul through healthy food.” Try fresh rolls like Tofu-Avocado and Jicama and Peanut & Spicy Hoisin fresh salad roll, Vermicelli Spicy Noodle soup with Tofu, as well as a variety of vegan Phở (pictured is Vegan Pho with the Pho noodle pan-fried and crisply served with veggies in hoisin sauce!). Beachside Grill is an “All-Day Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner diner within the heart of the Beach community of Toronto. We offer delicious food in generous portions, at unreasonably low prices, in a comfortable and down to earth environment.” Now those interested in trying delicious vegan options have a great reason to venture out to the Beach neighbourhood. Beachside Grill’s new vegan menu options include unique items like Jerk “Chicken-less” with Rice, Peas, and Cajun Coleslaw, as well as a Beef-less Breakfast Burrito, Mediterranean Root Vegetables with Grilled Tofu (pictured), and a Vegan Cobb Salad, and new items are added all the time. New Vegan Cheese Company
Vegan Stokes Cheese (firstname.lastname@example.org, www.veganstokes.com) is a new local vegan cheese company. “We are a small company that makes nut cheese and nut free cheese by hand in small batches. There are several varieties of soft and hard cheeses, including herbed feta, pub cheddar, Creamy Chive spread, with more to come. Vegan Stokes Cheese is currently available at Good Rebel, YamChops, Ambrosia Natural Foods (both Thornhill and Vaughan locations) and Vegan Danish Bakery in Thornhill. “We are also currently working with some notable vegan restaurants that want to feature our cheese…more to come on this soon!” Recently Vegan Stokes Cheese donated their products to the Peta Unstoppable event here in Toronto, and their delicious new cheese product was personally recognized by Peta founder, Ingrid Newkirk! New Pick-up Locations for Vegan Meal Delivery
Green Zebra Kitchen (647-867-1605, www.greenzebrakitchen.com) has new, expanded pick up locations for their vegan meal delivery service. “Through a partnership with Penguin Pick-Up, you can now pick up your weekly Green Zebra order on Wednesday between 5-9pm (3:30-6:30pm at Burlington) at Penguin Pick-Up, a convenient pick-up centre with on-site refrigeration. All you need to do is place your order as usual on our website and upon checkout, select the location where you will pick up your order. If you have any questions or would like us to add a Penguin Pick-Up location not listed, please let us know.” New locations include:

Karmah (343A Kerr St, Oakville) has closed its doors as of February. Although Karmah’s fresh, vegan offerings will be missed, a new vegan location will be opening in its place! Stay tuned to the Directory Updates for news about this new location.
