New Vegetarian Indian Restaurant
The Veggie Thali (1410 Victoria Park Ave. Unit 10, 416-285- 8344, www.theveggiethali.com) is a brand new Indian restaurant in Scarborough. “Bringing our old age traditions of homemade Indian food, we, at The Veggie Thali, are all about fresh, great tasting, wholesome, and healthy food! We offer 100% vegetarian cuisine, without sacrificing our high standards and quality in the least. The idea behind a thali is to offer all the 6 different flavours of sweet, salt, bitter, sour, astringent and spicy on one single plate. According to Indian food serving customs, a proper meal should be a perfect balance of all these 6 flavours.” A thali comes with rice, salad, 2 rotis and a choice of 3 hot table items, which includes options like Channa Masala (chickpeas cooked in roasted spices), Bhindi (okra pan fried with onions, and authentic Indian spices), Aloo Gobi (spiced cauliflower and potatoes) and many more. Extras like Samosas and the Veggie Kebob Roti Wrap are also available. Click here to view the full menu, and visit The Veggie Thali’s website and Facebook page for updates and more information.
