New Vegan Bar & Restaurant
Porter House (1321 Dundas St. W. (between Dufferin & Ossington), 647-346-3000, www.porterhouseto.com) is a brand new bar with an all vegan menu! Porter House caters to beer lovers and food lovers alike with a huge beer list, including six rotating craft beers, a growing bottle list, as well as a creative menu of vegan comfort foods. The menu matches the warm, comfortable interior by offering classic pub style dishes made vegan, like the Lentil and Ale Pie with a classic puff pastry crust, or the The Ploughman’s lunch with stuffed fennel, miso-cured tofu, pickle, seasonal fruit and veg, beer gravy, and bread. New (even more) Vegan Pizza Options!
Pizza Nova (23 Toronto locations, 416-439-0000, www.pizzanova.com) has joined the vegan pizza revolution and now offers the dairy-free, gluten-free, and soy-free option of Daiya cheese on their pizzas! “With dietary restrictions becoming more and more prevalent, Pizza Nova has taken the initiative to carry a product that caters to the needs of today’s consumer.” Pizza Nova also offers gluten-free crust. New Second Location
Rashmi’s Bakery (80 Pertosa Dr., Unit #13, Brampton, 905-970-0666, www.rashmisbakery.com) is opening a new second location in Mississauga this month! “This location will be over 8,500 Square feet (our current location is 1,200 Square feet) and will allow us to add many new products to serve you better.” The new location will also offer a line of gluten-free products, including cakes, pastries, donuts, and gift baskets and boxes. All Rashmi’s products are made egg free and nut free, and can be made vegan upon request. Rashmi’s Mississauga will be located at 3611 Mavis Road, Unit #9. New Vegan Menu
Sense Appeal (96 Spadina Ave., 416-203-0023 & 2814 Lakeshore Ave. W., 416-255-5665, www.senseappeal.ca) coffee bar and roastery now offers a complete Plant-Based lunch menu. As of December 1st, you can now choose from vegan salads, soups, and mains, including vegan raw lasagna with chia feta, and King Mushroom Stroganoff with cashew cream, wilted spinach and brown rice. “We are also offering fresh squeezed, energy boosting cold pressed juices, and are working on a line of fruit and nut based milks. Karine’s Fresh (109 McCaul St., (s. of Dundas), Village by the Grange, 416-591-0863, www.karines.ca) has a new look! “After many years, the vegan, vegetarian, all-day breakfast shop agreed to making a minor but effective change to their name: Karine’s Vegan, Vegetarian, All-Day Breakfast” became “Karine’s Fresh”. In addition to a new name, Karine’s rebranding also involves a new logo and website. But don’t worry, the breakfast still remains the same- as delicious as ever!
