New Veg & Vegan Locations
Bello Bio (511 Mt. Pleasant Rd., 416-587-4432, www.bellobio.ca), Toronto’s only Italian vegan eatery and source for Italian vegan imported foods is moving! Currently located in mid-town on Mt. Pleasant Rd., those of you who live downtown will be happy to hear the new location will be centrally located in Kensington Market. “Bello Bio will be relocating to Kensington Market, at 280 Augusta Avenue. We are beyond grateful for your patronage here on Mount Pleasant, and we hope to see you all again soon at our downtown location!” The big move happens very soon on April 8th, so mark your calendars and drop by for the grand re-opening! Kupfert & Kim (100 King St. W., 416-504-1233, www.kupfertandkim.com), the vegan, gluten-free breakfast and lunch spot currently located in First Canadian Place is opening an additional location, also in the Financial District in Brookfield Place at 181 Bay St. Opening in July, downtown dwellers can soon enjoy the convenience of a second location for healthy Vegan breakfast, lunch, smoothies and coffee. Just Falafel (www.justfalafel.com) is an internationally acclaimed Falafel joint that will soon be opening their first Canadian location at 831 Bay St. (at College)! Vidya’s Veggie Gourmet (238 Barrie St., Thornton, 705-739-9642, www.veggiegourmet.ca) is opening soon in Thornton (about 45 min. north of Toronto, and just 8 min. south of Barrie) inside Vidya’s Yoga and Wellness. The grand opening is this Saturday, April 5th. “Join us Saturday from 5-9pm for some samplers from the menu, live music, and great people! There will be live music, touring our new wellness centre, yoga studio, delicious tasters from our menu, a selection of beer, wine, and bevies, and friends from the Vidya Yoga community, and beyond.” The Vidya’s Veggie Gourmet menu includes original vegan dishes such as Vegan Clam Chowder, Mushroom Perogis, and tons of delicious, healthy salads and bowls, all with the choice of rice, millet, or quinoa. Even if you don’t live north of the city, I’d say that’s worth a trip! And as if this wasn’t enough great news, their website also mentions Vidya’s Food Trucks coming soon to Yorkville and Toronto… we will keep you posted on that! Also check out the yoga studio for a class or a weekend retreat, attend a seminar from world-class nutrition experts, or even detox in the infrared sauna room and experience massage therapy. New Vegan Food Delivery Partnership
Green Zebra (647-867-1605 , www.greenzebrakitchen.com) and Mama Earth Organics (416-850-8662, www.mamaearth.ca) unite! “As you know, Green Zebra delivers organic, vegan, gluten-free meals to homes and businesses all over Toronto. Until recently, you could only get Green Zebra food directly from us. Now, select Green Zebra Kitchen meals can also be purchased by Mama Earth Organics customers. The current menu includes: Pumpkin Spice Granola, Cacao-Pumpkin Seed Butter Balls, Mac & ‘Cheese’ with Roasted Broccoli and Sweet Potatoes, Kale Salads, Quinoa and Rice salads and other side dishes. The menu changes weekly and is currently available to their Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday customers.” This means that Green Zebra’s delivery zone now expands to Pickering, Scarborough, Mississauga, Richmond Hill, Markham, Stoufille, King City, and Eastern Oakville. Here are the areas that can get Green Zebra Kitchen via Mama Earth:

New Vegan Pizza!
North of Brooklyn Pizzeria (650.5 Queen St. W. (at Palmerston), 647-352-5700 & 469 Church St., 647-980-7990), www.northofbrooklyn.com) is now serving up vegan pizzas made with Daiya cheese! North of Brooklyn offers Brooklyn inspired pizza, and was voted #1 in Now Magazines Top 5 Pizza Slices. Delivery is available at the Queen W. location, and will be at the Church location starting April 15 (by bicycle!). Last month we announced that Bunner’s Bake Shop (3054 Dundas St W., 647-352-2975, was releasing a cookbook featuring all of our favourite treats! Well that time is near, and that means “the hottest party of the season- our Cookbook Launch Party!! On April 15th at Get Well between 6-8pm, be there or be sorely disappointed! Veg & Vegan Breakfast Option
Did you know that Hello Darling (827 Lansdowne Ave.) has great veg and vegan brunch options? In fact every dish is vegetarian (Rowe Farms meat options can be ordered on the side)! Coconut bacon is a staple here, and there’s a great vegan option of Chickpea Scramble with brown rice, roasted red peppers, avocado, smoky coconut, sesame salad, and sweet potato. As of March 26th beer and spirits can be enjoyed alongside Grasshopper’s amazing veg and vegan comfort food, like Chick-un nuggets, “Pulled Pork” Bahn Mi, and Quinoa Mac ‘n Cheese.
