New Vegan Cupcakes!
Carnivorous Cupcakes (647-242-0232, email@example.com) is the city’s newest vegan cupcakery! “We are a catering and delivery company working within the GTA with many varieties of cupcakes, all 100% vegan.” You can order an array of mouth-watering flavours by phone or email (website coming soon), and there are eventual plans to expand to a storefront bakery (we’ll keep you posted on the location!). Try classic flavours such as Red Velvet, to the not so classic Key Lime, Chocolate Cheesecake, and just in time for the holidays- Peppermint Candy Cane! Check out the always-growing menu on Facebook. New Vegetarian Food Truck
The Portobello Burger
(www.theportobelloburger.com) “is a vegetarian/vegan food truck that caters to people who are interested in eating healthy, tasty, but hearty food.” This mobile veg eatery has been on the scene for almost 5 years now, catering concerts, festivals, wineries, backyard parties, weddings, and many other types of events all over Ontario. Now, with the addition of a second truck and a license to serve in the city, The Portobello Burger is officially ready to roll in Toronto! “Our menu constantly changes with daily specials and we always have gluten-free and raw options available. You’ll find many trucks will have their menus stacked with non-vegetarian items and then add one veg option. We ONLY serve vegetarian food.” See their website for a full menu, which includes options like tacos, quesadillas, chili, soups, eggplant marinara, super healthy quinoa and bean salads, and yes, a delicious portobello burger. All vegetarian items can be made vegan, and there are plenty of gluten-free and raw options as well… including desserts! You will be chasing this food truck all over town. Tabülè Middle Eastern Cuisine (2009 Yonge St., 416-483-3747, 810 Queen St. E., 416-465-2500), a favourite Midtown destination, is the latest addition to the growing east-end restaurant scene with a brand new location at 810 Queen St. E. The new Riverdale location is serving the same elevated Middle Eastern cuisine, including falafel balls, tabbouleh salad, assorted vegan and gluten free dishes as the original Yonge Street location. Open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner, with take-out and catering available. Delivery is available at the Yonge location and can be ordered directly from the website, with the same service soon to come in the east end. Belmonte Raw (1022 Queen St. E., 647-213-4990) has big news! As of early November, another new location has popped up in The Detox Market at 367 King St. W.! “Come say hi, grab a juice, and grab yourself one of our Gourmet Raw Meals for lunch!” You can also pick up cleanses at this location (and save on delivery fees).
