Ganesh from the York Region Vegetarian group is from a South Indian vegetarian family and has been doing Indian cooking demos as a hobby and raising funds for the Vegetarian Food Bank. During our 2 hour meetup, Ganesh will cook an appetizer, main dish and desert. Suggested donation is $20, and dinner is included. Proceeds will be donated to the Toronto Vegetarian Food Bank. For more information on Ganesh’s non-profit, please see FB page: https://www.facebook.com/plantforplanetcanada Since many of our members are vegan and to ensure the greatest number of people can enjoy the food, all food preparation will be vegan. If there are any allergies or food sensitivities, please message ahead, and we will work around these where possible. Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org by Thurs. Nov. 2 at 10am (2.5 days notice) to confirm your attendance. The extra notice will allow our chef time to prepare based on the size of our group. If the group is large, we may supplement with an appetizer that is prepared ahead and/or 1-2 attendees that are skilled in Indian cooking may choose to make an India dish to share, in lieu of a donation. Let us know if this interests you when you RSVP, so we can contact you if there will be a large turnout.
*Note** Because this is a private home, the potluck will only be open to those members of the group that have been to at least one meetup before. It will also be open to those who are coming as a guests of someone who has been to one of our meetups, as well as people we know. If you don’t fit into one of these categories, we do want to meet you and we hope you will come out to one of the monthly public meetup events!
*Note** There are 3 cats in the house, in case anyone has any pet allergies. Please be mindful when you are opening the front door, although likely they will hide. The driveway is large, but there is parking on the street, if anyone needs a quick getaway after the event.
