VEGETARIANS IN THEIR TWENTIES HEAT UP HOT BEANS — A PICNIC LUNCH & BIRTHDAY CUPCAKE BAKE-OFF COMPETITION FOR BARBI’S BIRTHDAY (AS JUDGED BY BARBI)
Picture a sunny day in May, not a cloud in the sky, VITT friends surrounding you, your favourite TVA Volunteer & Donor Resources Coordinator carrying a brightly coloured helium-filled balloon, and smiles abound. A gathering near Spadina & Baldwin ensues, followed by romp through Kensington, a visit to Hot Beans vegan take-out, and chillaxing, before the birthday girl gets to sample all the cupcakes she can enjoy. Leftovers will be used in the most epic cupcake fight of the century. Sounds pretty perfect, right? YES! 😀
Come out to May’s second VITT event, meet some new friends, and enjoy the sights of Kensington. If you are so inclined, please bring along some home-made vegan cupcakes to celebrate Barbi’s birthday. She will sample them all and choose her favourite. The winner gets a cookie (’cause that makes NO sense whatsoever!) and maybe a hug (from whom TBD! 😉 ).
Meet at Hot Beans to order around 1 pm. It’s just west of Spadina on the north side of Baldwin Street — the most easterly shop in a big grey building marked 160. After grabbing some food at Hot Beans, we can migrate over to the nearby Bellevue Square park (between Augusta & Bellevue Avenues and Dennison Square & Wales Avenue if you’re coming later) to eat and gobble/throw cupcakes. Bring your picnic blanket and frisbee if you’d like. The more youthful amongst us can wade in the kiddie pool and chase squirrels!
