1:00 pm – Toronto Starch Solution Meetup
Once again, Toronto Starch Solution Meetup group will be hosting a potluck lunch based on the principles of Dr. John McDougall’s book The Starch Solution : Eat the Foods You Love, Regain Your Health, and Lose the Weight for Good. Our group plans to make this a monthly event, on the third Sunday of each month and to show and discuss a video or invite someone to share their Starch Solution experiences with the group. A small donation of $1 or $2 would be appreciated to help defray the costs to Don Heights Unitarian for the use of the space.
This low fat, whole foods, plant based (WFPB) way of eating centres on starches such as whole grains, beans, lentils, peas, potatoes, sweet potatoes, winter squashes, parsnips, pasta, and so on, augmented with smaller proportions of green, yellow and orange (non-starchy) veggies prepared and served without added fat and eaten with a plethora of delicious, fat free condiments and sauces, in quantities that are satisfying. Feeling hungry or deprived is discouraged. No starvation or sacrifice required!
Join us for a delicious potluck lunch and a chance to mingle with some new folks. If you need suggestions for what to bring, see Dr. McDougall’s website, check fatfreevegan for lots of ideas or, bring a plate of cut up fruit or vegs. Please bring a copy of your recipe or a list of ingredients so that we can all learn together about the food.
PARKING IS FREE ON WEEKENDS.
