“We often forget that WE ARE NATURE. Nature is not something separate from us. So when we say that we have lost our connection to nature, we’ve lost our connection to ourselves.”
― Andy Goldsworthy
In this workshop we will create a nature inspired sculpture based on artist Andy Goldsworthy.
In the morning parents and children will be invited to go on an exploratory hike through the woods to discover what inspired artist Andy Goldsworthy to create Land Art as well as find their own inspiration in the art of the natural environment surrounding them. Parents and children will be encouraged to collect found materials to create a small sculpture on a 4″x4″ wood block base to take home. This session will have an emphasis on colour, pattern, line, movement.
After lunch parents and children will work together create a large scale interactive “Land Art” sculpture outdoors after exploring the natural beauty of the property for more natural materials on a grander scale. You will be sent home with a photo of your interactive piece to commemorate the day spent interacting with likeminded folk.
Participants aged 7 and up
Cost of workshop including lunch and materials is $150 for one adult and one child. A family of two adults and two kids is $275. Additional adults $90 and additional kids $30.
