Upcoming Events:

LUNCH: SATURDAY, JULY 19 AT 12 PM

The owner of Coconut Cove, Steve, wants to prepare more vegetarian/vegan food. This restaurant may already have Durham’s most luxurious chickpea-potato roti. Coconut Cove is on the corner of King and Nassau Streets, with the entrance at 7 Nassau Street. Parking in adjacent lots and underneath the building. Please RSVP before July 15.

DINNER: WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 6 AT 6:30

Cool down this summer with some sushi! We have arranged for non-fish miso soup at Sushi Mountain in Whitby (the northwest corner of Thickson and  Dundas). Here’s a range of what also awaits you:  udon soup,  edamame, veggie sushi: avocado, cucumber, picked radish, pickled mushroom, mango and more. Please RSVP to durhamveg@gmail.com before August 1.

DINNER: WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3 AT 6:30

Spicy Affairs in Oshawa introduced a new menu in July with many more vegetarian/vegan options and we are looking forward to visiting and trying the new items! More details to follow.

TORONTO VEGETARIAN FOOD FESTIVAL: SEPTEMBER 5-7

This September will be the 30th Anniversary of the Toronto Vegetarian Association’s annual festival at Harbourfront! People gather at Harbourfront Centre in Toronto for this free celebration of the best in plant-based food, knowledge, and entertainment. This is the largest event of its kind in North America with 35,000 attendees of all ages and backgrounds! At the moment, at least two Oshawa-based groups may have a booth. We are waiting to hear details. DurhamVeg will be featured with its history and lots of great stories. Stay tuned!
