Indian Vegetarian Haweli
(820 Denison St, Markham, 905-477-2787)
Tracy writes : “At the recommendation of some east Indian friends we tried this buffet restaurant at Denison and Warden.  It was a lovely, open, clean restaurant with a good-sized buffet and sweet table including ice cream, soup and pani puri (I believe those little puff things are called that) included.  Oh, yes, a lovely pizza was available as well - fluffy dough.  There were 7 curries and a rice.  They also asked us which 'bread' we would like at the table so I asked for a whole wheat parantha - cooked fresh.  I couldn't believe they also included Rasmalai, rice pudding and  one of the nicest Halwa's I've tried - not dry but with the lovely flavour of rose water I believe.  All for $6.99, children under 10 eat free!  Over 10, half price.  No seniors prices but you can see why.  One can also order from the menu."

Disgraceland (965 Bloor Street West, 647-347-5263)
Nancy writes: “Thought I would tell you about a bar/restaurant you should have in your directory. The owner (Shawn) is a long time vegetarian who runs a bar/restaurant called Disgraceland at (open after 5 nightly and brunch on weekends). There are tons of vegetarian and vegan items on the menu (about half the menu is vegetarian) including Vegan Poutine, Vegan Ceasar salad (with tempeh), Vegan Mac and Cheese, homemade veggie burgers, grilled tofu sandwich (my personal favourite) and for brunch he does a traditional English vegan or vegetarian breakfast.
