~~Authentic South Indian vegan-friendly cuisine served in a large dining hall. Dosas, lacy crepe-like wraps, are the specialty.
~~Take six steps down to a huge dining hall – by any measure this must be the largest vegetarian restaurant in Toronto. The hall is very white – from the ceramic floor to the vinyl chairs. Everything is clean and spotless.
Now gave them a NNN rating. “Udupi specializes in dosas, lacy crepe-like wraps made from fermented flour that measure up to 24 inches in diameter.” There are 11 on the menu and they all come with lentil sambar sauce, coconut relish and hot coriander-mint chutney.
Menu also features pakoras, veggie curries and uthapam (sweet rice-flour pancakes). Everything can be ordered vegan.
~~Hours (9/17/2009): Mon-Fri noon-10pm, Sat-Sun noon-11pm.
