~~We have been tipped off that Vancouver's famous Foundation restaurant is opening a second location in Toronto. A poster at the PostPunkKitchen forum wrote Aug 31: "I saw the sign yesterday. Take my word for it when I say this is the best veg food around. I've flown to Vancouver twice now and made a detour just so I could have dinner at The Foundation. They play cool hip hop music and the menu is a big fusion of Mexican, Asian and traditional North American food. The vegan BLT is TO DIE FOR!!"

~~Feeling like “Columbus discovering America,” Tom Salsberg reports that he has found a new Chinese vegetarian restaurant in the Junction Triangle area of Toronto.
     “They are big on mock meats. Owner, Mrs. Fam showed me the label (they are made by Veggie Paradise) and it mentioned non-GMO soy, which I appreciated."

There's even a little cafe area that sells sandwiches, salads, coffees, etc. There are many vegetarian options on the menu and lots of good stuff for vegans and vegetarians in the grocery area – frozen entrees, organic produce and cooking ingredients, and lots lots more!" They sell custom-made pies – many of which are vegan.
