The hunt is on! On Saturday, June 25th, the Toronto Vegan Scavenger Hunt will challenge local vegans and friends to prove their meat-free chops in a battle of epic proportions. The hunt begins at Panacea, Toronto's own vegan health food store, and ends at Hot Beans, the locus of delicious Latin-inspired vegan take out in Kensington Market. In between, teams will scour the downtown area with food-related clues in restaurants, stores, and maybe even a dumpster or two. Winners will receive prize packages with goodies included that are sure to make even omnivores drool. This noble challenge is in support of an even nobler cause: all proceeds of the hunt will be donated to the production of the film Maximum Tolerated Dose. A film by Toronto native Karol Orzechowski, Maximum Tolerated Dose provides a glimpse into the internal struggle within the people who have seen the world of animal-testing first hand, without forgetting the stories of the animals who have seen inside the cage.
