Toronto's First Vegan Scavenger Hunt
Friday, 24 June 2011

The hunt is on!  On Saturday, June 25th, the Toronto Vegan Scavenger Hunt will challenge local vegans and friends to prove their meat-free chops in a battle of epic proportions.  The hunt begins at Panacea, Toronto's own vegan health food store, and ends at Hot Beans, the locus of delicious Latin-inspired vegan take out in Kensington Market.  In between, teams will scour the downtown area with food-related clues in restaurants, stores, and maybe even a dumpster or two.  Winners will receive prize packages with goodies included that are sure to make even omnivores drool.

This noble challenge is in support of an even nobler cause: all proceeds of the hunt will be donated to the production of the film Maximum Tolerated Dose.  A film by Toronto native Karol Orzechowski, Maximum Tolerated Dose provides a glimpse into the internal struggle within the people who have seen the world of animal-testing first hand, without forgetting the stories of the animals who have seen inside the cage.
