Podcast 207: Adventures in eating
Saturday, 08 January 2011

Today John and Lisa O. catch up about all of the good things they ateover winter break. Lisa tried some new restaurants in the SanFrancisco Bay Area, including a vegan cinnamon bun bakery called Cinnaholic and a new vegan Filipino restaurant called No Worries.

John went to Rawlicious, Cafe 668, and scored a great 50% off deal atFresh on New Year's Eve. He also went to two wedding celebrations, one of which was vegan and one of which was definitely not. John's been getting some great use out of his Excalibur dehydrator, making sweet potato chips, kale chips, and smoked coconut. John and Lisa are curious about Greens Vegetarian Restaurant in Kensington.

If you're interested in outreach volunteer work, we have some new events coming up. Seedy Sunday will take place on February 13th, and the York University Health Fair is on March 2nd. Click on the eventnames to find out more about the outreach opportunities.

A series of Health Starts Here cooking classes begins on January 30th! Classes are just $30 each or $100 for all four. Find out more about the dates and subjects by clicking here.

Listener Shawn sent us an article about a study which found that eating a vegetarian diet lowers kidney disease patients' levels of potentially toxic phosphorus in the blood and urine.
