The Cherry on Top… is that it’s Vegan

Your Recap of the 34th Annual Veg Food Fest!

Thank you to everyone who made it out to the 34th annual Veg Food Fest at Harbourfront Centre this weekend! We hope that you enjoyed all of the delicious food, unique drinks, and so many informative presentations and workshops across the weekend. Our loyal community keeps the festival growing year after year and we at the Toronto Vegetarian Association are incredibly grateful for your support!

What was your favourite part of the weekend?

Our Lisa Grill Compassion for Animals Award Exhibit was the launching point of the festival weekend and attracted many viewers across the weekend. The TVA Store shared this space with an amazing selection of books from our speakers and on a wide range of topics related to the plant-based movement. There was also some great merchandise on offer – reusable water bottles, totes and tanks to celebrate the festival weekend in style. If you missed your opportunity to visit the bookstore, you can come and explore our TVA Resource Centre at 17 Baldwin Street. Join the TVA today at veg.ca to receive awesome discounts on books!

New VFF Presenters and mother-daughter duo, Tracye and Mary McQuirter, wowed our audience with their tips on how to be an Ageless Vegan while speakers like Dominick Thompson returned with his own talk on Redefining Masculinity Through Veganism. This year there were some great movement and meditation classes that our crowd participated in to get their bodies and minds prepared for all of the plant-based goodness on offer from our vendors!

Despite the windy autumn-like conditions, our vendors were on fire with their menu offerings. No one could say no to the variety of food options from plant-based ice cream, burgers, salads, hot dogs, pizza, mac n cheese and a medley of Caribbean and Asian cuisine to satisfy the soul!

We welcomed hundreds of new members to the Toronto Vegetarian Association this weekend and are so excited to introduce a new batch of Veg Food Fest attendees to all things veg that Toronto has to offer!

If you didn’t sign up this weekend but are interested in becoming a member of the TVA today, go to veg.ca to find out more.
