Registration is open for the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon/Half Marathon and 5k (taking place October 21st, 2018), and we’re accepting members to join our team!
You can sign up to walk or run the 5k, 1/2 marathon or full marathon to raise funds to support TVA.
Everyone on the team receives a special discounted charity registration rate, and the first ten people who sign up and pledge to raise $300 or more in the half or full marathon, or $250 or more in the 5k, will get free registration! But that’s not all.
We’re really excited about some new perks for team members this year including a private, exclusive virtual Q&A with Bart Yasso (Runners World’s “mayor of running”), 15% off at a post-run dinner at Suup Health Bar, and a yoga for runners workshop from Samantha Doyle.
All team members will also receive a tip sheet on weight-training exercises for runners from vegan personal trainer Paul Landini, and a 7-day pass to Good Life Fitness.
Of course there will be great prizes for the top fundraisers on the team that include gift cards from Bloomer’s and Kupfert and Kim, shiatsu massages from Shiatsu by Ivan, and personal training sessions with Paul Landini.
Our goal is to raise $14,000 for TVA to expand our outreach program, distribute more vegetarian starter kits, and bring in more high profile speakers to the Annual Veg Food Fest! Most importantly, the larger our team is and the bigger our presence at the race, the louder our message that vegetarians are indeed strong, athletic and healthy.
