New to Toronto Veg Card Program
We are extremely pleased to announce that Tori’s Bakeshop (2188 Queen St. E., 647-350-6500) has joined our program for 10% off!
Not only can you get delicacies like all vegan croissants, donuts, and chocolate bar bits… you can also get savoury goods like all vegan cheese-ham-broccoli scones. Plus, they are selling their hickory smoked coconut (the “b” in their “b”lt): “sprinkle it over a baked potato or salad…or eat it straight from the jar…” Pull out your card and head over to the Beach!
Vegetarian Restaurant find in Etobicoke
Tom writes to us about an Indian restaurant in Etobicoke serving Gujarati style fare called Govardhan Thal.(1530 Albion Road, Etobicoke. 416-749-5400) “I happened to be at the Albion Mall, and outside the mall, right next to The Beer Store is a restaurant with a sign saying ‘Full Vegetarian.’
“It is a Gujarati place, selling something like a Thali for only $4. They also have buffet meals with a greater selection for $7.99. And, of course, there is take-out by different sized styrofoam containers. As I’m getting back into being a raw-foodist, I took out some mint sauce, made with uncooked fresh mint leaves at $3 for a medium small container (I guess about eight ounces or so).
“The place is very clean and tastefully decorated; a nice place to bring a family or a date.”
