Training: Role Playing for Vegetarian Outreach
The old saying goes “practice makes perfect”. We’ve consistently heard the feedback that on the spot, participatory training is key to ensuring volunteers are comfortable approaching the public and asking them to make a commitment to plant-based living, whether it’s asking them to sign up for the Veggie Challenge or to become a Toronto Vegetarian Association member.
This session will give you the opportunity to role play with fellow volunteers and get practice “making the ask”, making sure you arrive at your next tabling shift with confidence!
When? Thursday, May 3rd, 2012 from 6:30-8:00 pm
Where? Metro Hall (King and John Street, near St. Andrew subway station)
What? We’ll start with a brief review of “talking points”/tips for asking people to make a commitment, then you’ll break into small groups or partners to role play and practice responding to different scenarios and types of people. Free vegan snacks will be served at this playful session!
We’ll bring along some free vegan snacks too.
